Sue Podbury has been painting the countryside, farming communties and agriculture sice the 1960's. Most of Sue’s early work was of her first love, horses then years of pet portraits followed. The first tractor she painted, the grey Ferguson, opened up a new direction. Having grown up in the country, the knowledge was there, waiting to be painted: work-a-day scenes (with plenty of mud!), the backdrop of English farm buildings which have seen generations of workers, the horseman of old, the transition of tractors and finally, today’s giants.
